At the end of the day..99% is for charity

Yes, at the end of the day, the bottom line is, the crux of the matter is, in conclusion, these are very important phrases. These signify what the objective was of any action or what the action is expected to achieve or will achieve.

All of us are working day and night in pursuit of something. It is a different matter that most of us do not know this pursuit, but for those who know they say they are doing it for success – monetary, social or personal. To become rich or socially prominent or having a sense of achievement.  We all know Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.

But how are we measuring results of all our action?

  • Business Enterprise, measures profit and net worth
  • Individual, measures, annual income, and net worth
  • NGOs/ Social Enterprise, measures life impacted or reach out or impact achieved
  • Country measures, GDP

But, at the end of the day, what are we out to achieve for the self i.e. human being? We all living beings are longing for HAPPINESS.  We all are in pursuit of happiness, whether we know it or no if a different matter. We, the human beings are pursuing happiness and we believe that money will bring happiness. Therefore, we send our life (Mostly the whole life)  in earning money.

But we all know most rich people are not happy. If we look into the list of top 10 richest countries and top 10 happiest countries of the world, there are only three countries which are common.

These are Norway, Switzerland, and Australia.

Therefore seven out of the ten richest countries are not a part of top ten happiest countries. I think the same ratio applies to us at an individual level. This proves MONEY is not the means to Happiness or rather NOT the only means to happiness.

But we measure results of all our actions in terms of money???

This proves that what we measure as an outcome of our action and efforts is flawed. Whether at country or enterprise and individual level measuring only monetary impact of all our actions is completely flawed. We all are running for the wrong reasons.

PAUSE. THINK. REVISIT. ACT.

Yes, people in pursuit of happiness are giving up their high paying jobs for the passion they want to pursue. People are traveling and blogging and living location independent lifestyle. In times of internet, this is possible. People are giving up their corporate life and working in the rural area for the upliftment of the poor and promote rural tourism. People like Chetan Bhagat & Amish Tripathi are giving up their suffocated corporate life and writing books, become an author and enjoy the freedom.

This is Happiness.

Countries or companies or individuals going after mindless money-making pursuit are going to suffer. Money in itself can’t make anyone happy. It is what we do with our money that probably can make us happy.

Our WILL to do what we want to do with our TIME is the real HAPPINESS and the real meaning of richness.

“It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness. “

Charles Spurgeon

“There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved.”

George Sand

Remember the purpose of earning MONEY is to become HAPPY. Unfortunately, most of the human beings are spending their lifetime in just earning money without even realising the real objective of earning money. The money will never be enough. It is what we want to do with our life should decide our priority. The TIME is limited for all. Either spend in earning money only and die or do what you want to do in life, pursues passion and become happy.

Mark Zuckerberg announced today he will donate 99% of his FB shares to Charity during their (Couple) lives.

Losing precious years of life just to earn money and finally, money goes to charity or legal heirs will fight for it.

“Some people are so poor, all they have is money.”

Unknown

“The measure of your life will not be what you accumulate, but what you give away. “ Wayne Dyer

At the beginning of the day, we all have a choice what we want to do with our life because at the end of the day we all want to become HAPPY.

For Indian readers and Gulzar fans.” Dil dhoondta hai, fir wahi fursat ke raat din…” (Once again the heart is trying to find those leisurely days and nights) from the movie Mausam is worth listening.

Exercise the CHOICE before it is too late. Tomorrow will start tomorrow.
