How to be Happy – Always

Caution: This could be a life-changing read.

“Often it is those who live quietly, modestly, and contentedly with a simple life who are the happiest.”  Joshua Becker

The biggest obstacle to our happiness is our wrong definition of happiness. If we define something wrong then we will struggle for it, but never will be able to achieve it.

We have beliefs that MORE is necessary for happiness. More money, more things, more houses, more foreign tours, more power, more fame, more, more, and only more is our prerequisite for happiness.

“Will Rogers once said, “Too many people spend money they haven’t earned, to buy things they don’t want to impress people they don’t like.” Joshua Becker.

The reality is Happiness is about less. More is endless and can never bring happiness. Less is reduction and less is minimalism. In ancient Jain texts, there is a concept of minimalism. The term is known as Aparigraha. Parighara i.e. more possessions are considered a sin as per the Hindu texts.

Parigraha and more possessions, in fact, are our pursuit of unhappiness. Aparigraha or Minimalist lifestyle is the only way to be happy always.

The book we are introducing today is a book by a Minimalist Joshua Becker titled The More of Less: Finding the Life You Want Under Everything You Own

The author has shared his own experience of becoming a Minimalist. He himself is a Minimalist and his experiences are worth reading and experimenting. He shows how our more and more possession-oriented mindset is a hindrance to our happiness. He shows how we can live without many things we thought we can’t live without.

Since last 6 years when he was introduced to Minimalism by his neighbour, Joshua’s story and writing have inspired millions around the world to find more life by owning fewer possessions. Today, based on his thoughtful and intentional approach to minimalism, he is one of the leading voices in the modern simplicity movement reaching over 1 million readers every month.

“Mark Twain has been credited as saying, “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” And I might add a third: the day you throw off any distraction and decide to pursue your purposefully .” Joshua Becker, The More of Less: Finding the Life You Want Under Everything You Own

Reading this book will change your life for the better forever. Read only if you want to get influenced. Minimalism or Aparigraha lifestyle is the only way to turn your sustained unhappiness into enduring Happiness.

Remember: Whatever the price you may pay for the book The More of Less, it will prove to be cheap. This book is going to save lots of your money which you might spend on accumulating unwanted possessions.
