What You Need to Know About Your Wellness

“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” Aristotle

Fitness is important but Wellness is the new Goal.

People may be fit but may not be well. They are disturbed. They are disturbed with the self, they are disturbed with others. They are disturbed with the situations. They are disturbed with their job and boss. They are disturbed because others are successful and they are not so successful. In this social media world, others happiness is also a cause of our mental disturbance.

Physical fitness without mental peace is not a desirable state of the health. The mental disturbance over the period of time takes away physical fitness. In order to know about the wellness where physical fitness is matched by mental peace lets know what the wellness is?

What is Wellness?

Your wellness is in your hand. You will not achieve wellness outside of you.

“…a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”  The World Health Organization

You may achieve your fitness in the Gym and on the dining table.

You may be socially popular. People like your company. You have many friends. This is great.

But your mental status i.e. your inner nature changes everything. Your inner stories can make you mentally sick in spite of you being physically fit and socially well connected and popular.

“The part can never be well unless the whole is well.” Plato

Some people are mentally sick. Not some but many people are mentally sick.

Characteristics of Mentally Sick Behaviour:

Mentally sick and disturbed person demonstrate some of the following traits.

  • Blame others for their problems
  • Pessimistic in most of the situations.
  • Faultfinders
  • Can’t let go
  • Like gossiping about others’ weakness to feel better
  • Always complains a lot
  • Never excited about the future
  • Happy with others’ problems.

These all are the signs of a mentally sick and disturbed person.

As long as you are mentally sick and demonstrate the traits indicated above, you will remain away from the Wellness. Your negative emotional state of mind affects your health adversely.

The number one thing to address this mental state and move towards the wellness is to recognise the thinking pattern of your mind.

Like many health conditions, your thinking pattern goes unnoticed. Introspection is most difficult. I am always right is so thickly ingrained in our mind that we never think we could be a negative person. We could be wrong. We need to assess our behaviour.
