6 ways to remain fit without exercise

Caution:

These tips are not substitutes of exercise. These are complementary and necessary but not sufficient.

Like businesses are having good practice guide and they follow it to the extent possible, we human being can also learn from good practices of other healthy people.

Some of the proven, simple and baked by science practices, which usually we ignore, can amazingly help us remain fit.

1)  Hydration:

Water is a great source of good health. We never knew this. We just drink water as and when we feel thirsty. The fact is, water is a health drink. It must be consumed several times a day. 3 to 4 liter of water is an ideal quantity for a healthy human being. Make it a daily routine to start your day with 2 to 3 glasses of water.

2)  Fruit:

After water the first thing to be consumed daily is fruit. Yes, don’t be surprised. We have a habit of having our fruit after dinner. We believe this is a sign of our rich lifestyle.

The science says; dinner fills up glycogen storage of the body, therefore anything with sugar eaten after the dinner converts sugar into fat. Remember fruits contain good amount of sugar.

Fruits also delay the time food takes to reach your intestines.

Eating fruit after dinner is fine if you are okay with adding fat to your body.

Fruit in the morning is beneficial as the body after the fasting for whole night needs glucose to boost our energy level. Sugar in the fruit can be used as immediate energy and won’t be deposited as fat. The fruit in the morning is the healthy option.

3)  Don’t skip breakfast:

All of us are in a great hurry. Yet do not skip your breakfast. This is the most important meal of the day.  The breakfast should have all the three components like carbs, fat and protein.

4)  Smaller Meals:

Smaller meals frequently are better than heavy meals once or twice a day. Many people skip dinner and eat a heavy lunch or vice a versa skip lunch and eat heavy dinner. These are faulty eating habits.  These kind of irregular habits are not healthy, but anti-healthier.

Skipping a meal has shown to make you feel hungrier when the next meal time comes. This could cause you to eat more calories than you would have otherwise. Skipping meals lowers sugar level and chance to have nutrients is missed. Going extended periods of time without replenishing your body’s fuel supply will force it to shift to breaking down energy stores within the muscle, further lowers your strength.

5)  Stay Active:

Use staircase, take your own water and tea from the pantry/kitchen, go for a healthy break and stretch yourself, walk to switch off unwanted fans and lights at homes, arrange your clothes in wardrobes. In short, do your own work that will not only keep you active and healthy, but also will bring peace in your marriage life (bonus benefit).

6)  Hobby:

We Indians are hobby shy. Ask people about their hobby and look at their face. We believe adulthood is only for earning money. A Majority of Indians continue to take along work on their vacations, and find it hard to unplug.

According to a recent TripAdvisor survey, approximately 50 per cent of those polled in India reported having worked during vacations over the past one year, compared to a global average of 44.19 per cent.

For most of the Indians, having a hobby is not even a consideration. But pursuing a hobby has a health benefit.

When you’re doing something you love-something you don’t have to do for any other reason other than the fact that you love it-you feel a rush of excitement and joy. Researchers suggest hobbies by focusing on a non-work-related task, you’re giving your mind something else to focus on. And when you really get in the flow, all of your worries and stresses seem to fade away.

Research has found that engaging in enjoyable activities are associated with lower blood pressure, total cortisol, waist circumference, and body mass index. Engaging in these activities also correlated to higher levels of positive psychosocial states and lower levels of depression and negative effect.

“I think I have just evolved as a person, as a human being. I like fitness. It’s an important part of my everyday life, and I enjoy and endorse a healthy lifestyle.”  Karisma Kapoor

Proper Diet, healthy lifestyle and right exercise are tripod of a good health. You escape one and you will see the adverse impact on your body, some immediately and many times long term.
